Interesting... That popped in to my head as well. We'd have to figure out some way to do this with out making EVERY users browsing experience taxing on our servers. Each page is quite massive when it comes to queries. I'll pass that idea on.

can we have a list of the past x number of threads we posted to? i don't want to watch list every thread i post to. if i leave on a trip and come back a few days later the thread is gone forever unless i remember specifically what title/category it was or i have to go "recent articles" diving.

There are a lot of interesting ideas suggested, and my only worry is that when other things are implemented it won't be too taxing for my computer. I have a CrapComputer. With DeceleratedSpeedService. Still, it works. But very sloooowly on the forums section. (The rest isn't too bad). The most plain design is in my computer's best interest. And the least amount of switching to new pages is best. (I hate getting set back when posting re: NEWEDITFORM. It takes a lot of time to get through.)

Here's an idea in response to Comments #8 & #9 on the Copyright Violations article.

We've got a bunch of user tools, how about community tools. Was thinking of a private message system between (JoeUser Pro) users.

This would allow users to communicate in private, and also take the personal conversations out of the blogsphere (where it gets points for "me too" posts). This would also provide an easier way for people to form working blog-groups. Email is sort of unpersonal compared to blogging. Perhaps even a java IRC client for a JoeUser channel.

Just throwing out ideas along the lines of ways of helping the users create the organization of things as well as the rules.

I just thought of a great way to list the info that Poet was describing.

When you're on a user's blog, rather than seeing "Top 10 Blog Sites" of JoeUser, you see "My Top 5 Blogs", and list the blogs that user visits most. Which could in turn pass them onto another person's top 5, and they begin branching out. Helps take some focus away from the "Front Page", and discover posts that werent made in the last 2 hours.

That would be pretty cool. But it woudl require some spyware or something to find out what blog sites they go to unless they choose to put their favorites up themselves.

Well if JoeUser comes with a SDC snap in, or stand alone reader, that's a good mechanism to do it for pro-users.

You could even have 5 favorites buttons on the reader, and upon login the reader would change the user's favorites for all to see on the web page.
